The Gahment is smart lah. They wont link the monetary pay out to elections and will deny if you try to link them. Same issue with upgrading.
The petition claimed that PAP have misused public funds, sure kena sue for defamation one.

Chee Soon Juan say "Where is the money" now he no money to pay fine go jail already. Buangkok MRT put white elephant but only got "rap on the knuckles". So hard to say what PAP will do, OB markers are so vague. Maybe the PAP will see it as a good chance to bring out statistics to show that so and so non-PAP constituency already got upgrading plans already. yay. so many tricks.
Seriously, no elections better, elections come liao i really wonder why we bother to vote for PAP at all. The patterns they chute and the excuses they make for the patterns they chute just leave a bitter taste my my mouth. (ok maybe we wun get to vote. yay.)

White elephant not direct leh... a bit farfetched to be sued for that.
The problem now is that there has never been the most minute toehold by any opposition, and once that happens it is not unlikely that the floodgates will open.
Worst is if there is a significant opposition minority for several years, and Singapore still rolls on. Then people will realise that voting them in will not "wreck the nation" and start to have a mindset shift. Thus the stiff resistance.
But let it not be said that the incumbents cannot create an advantage for themselves :P
