On a roll

Firstly, a defence of studying (mwahaha):
So much about the so-called flair. So you invest in stock market need to study the market or not? Or u can just pin gan jue see the name sound like will make money then invest and make lots of money? The first one needs work, the second one is really flair. If you can do the second one and be spot-on every single time I think you really are a stock market genius. WOOHOO! Then next time I can give my money to you to help me invest already. But the fact is, I think even so-called stock market geniuses do lots of research, lots of careful planning, and go through lots of detail to achieve the level of success that they enjoy. The reason why we attribute it to flair is probably because not so much of the hard work is as visible as the success. People tend to focus on the glamorous part, and usually forget about effort that they have to put in. Thomas Edison invents the light bulb, we call him a genius. Einstein came up with the relativity theories and all that stuff, and we call him a genius. Ok maybe intellectually these people are really on a different planet, but having seen the formulas Einstein came up with, I don’t believe he could have done it by just writing them down while watching TV.

Which is why I don’t like the term mugging, with the (to me) very negative connotation attached to it. It’s like you think the world is unfair because people work harder, they mug you of the position your innate talent deserves. In fact, I think what is really unfair is the innate talent people have, because that just gives you a clear advantage over the rest of the people right away when you are born. So in life, effort sometimes just doesn’t pay off. But continue to work hard anyway, because it helps you to improve, if not your brain, your character, your discipline, your knowledge. I think perhaps some people are not happy with so many people studying because they don’t see the point in doing that, and are frustrated others don’t agree with their point of view. I think some time ago I was like that too, but well, I guess I saw more of life to see that hard work isn’t important just for grades, but in life you generally have to work hard for things as well. So I try to give my best in everything I do. CHIONG AH! GO GO GO!

And to smk (and maybe Edmond Soon as well, in a very serious tone): Eh you really know what you want a not? If you don’t want engineering then change to another fac lah, like maybe accountancy and business, more useful for your stock market thing, don't just stay in engine because we are there. Seriously see you both just blindly (ok I dono blindly a not haha) following CSQ in taking whatever he takes I a bit scared also. EH CSQ GOING FRANCE LEH! HE GO LIAO U ALL HOW? And if you really don’t want to study then go straight into stock market now lah, maybe we can pool some capital for you to play a bit (ok maybe not, haha, or u try asking your parents).

About your friend: wah I think you damn qiang, I admit I have never done anything like that before for anyone, be it due to lack of trying or having not found anyone I would do that for. Heck, I don’t even know how to make friends with people already. Anyone remember how I became your friend? Well, anyway: WOOHOO! JIA YOU! (for whatever you are trying to do)

And finally, to meepok man: I will gladly volunteer to kick you off your butt. Maybe I can even try to kick your butt off you. Hahaha. You come back Singapore then we discuss.

Maybe can try playing some of the many stock market simulators online first, I think some of them even have real cash as prizes :P

Oh yah, must remind CSQ to learn some "cheese eating surrender monkey" jokes before he leaves for France. Sure make him damn popular there one.
