Good Old Econs Question

Let's say that u got a FREE $5 coupon to play LAN. Then dunno who comes up to you and says lets watch Be With Me, $8 only.

Despite reading the below review you still feel that you would pay up to $10 since got chio bu. In the end u kiam siap and get thrashed at DotA in the end. So what's the opportunity cost of doing what u did?

A) $0
B) $2
C) $3
D) $5
E) $8
F) $10
G) None of the Above

Hmm... kiam siap doesn't really mean not willing to pay. There are many goods in the world which I am willing to purchase at a non-zero price, but the total of these prices is definitely more than my ability to pay. So I choose.

I may be willing to buy a book for $10 or a good meal for $15, but if i have only $20 it's one or the other.

In any case, the answer is B. Supposedly an equivalent question was asked at an economics conference where almost all participants were econs grads, and there were quite a few Masters and Ph.D holders. 73% got the right answer, wrong.
