『いま、会いにゆきます』 (Be With You)

Mio's death leaves husband Takumi and 6 year old son Yuji fending for themselves.



Mio is a chio bu, Takumi a cockster, and Yuji is one hell of a cute kid. Probably the cutest thing I've ever seen on the big screen, in probably every scene he appears I could hear girls in the theatre *squealing* or going "Sooo cuute...!". His acting (if he is acting at all) really shines through. If aliens ever landed on this Earth and asked me to describe to them the word "disappointment", I would point out to them this one scene in the show when his father tells him mommy isn't coming back, he looks down at his shoes, lips droopy. Every bit of emotion is written all over his face clear as the midday sun.

Is the movie touching? Well, the girl to my right was letting out sobs *SOBZ*, so was the girl to Colin's left. I dunno how many other people in the theatre were tearing up. Typically jap shows IMO have good cinematography meaning that the camera shots usually contain alot of nice colours, so that doesn't hurt too. The movie poster claims that it is the NUMBER ONE HIT IN KOREA HK AND JAPAN BOX OFFICE but I dunno when it was #1 and how long. Anyways Hollywood will be remaking this film, starring Jennifer Garner. Yucks! I think the boy is irreplaceable, and so is the whole jap floaty dreamy feel of it...

...Sin City. I'd rather play computer game than watch this film. It's one of those things where is unique, different, creative, but unfortunately, that doesn't mean that it's worth watching. The movie seems to be lacking some extra something, I think it's because it's sort of a series of short stories and each story I don't think has enough depth. My first official R(A) movie and they give me sick violence and lousy sex.
